    The Venice West

Nestled in the heart of Venice Beach, The Venice West stands as a premier music venue, continuing the neighborhood’s rich tradition of artistic expression. This intimate space, with its exceptional acoustics and welcoming atmosphere, has quickly become a cornerstone of Los Angeles’ live music scene since its opening. With a capacity that balances between cozy and vibrant, The Venice West is a great place for audiences to connect with performers in a meaningful way. The thoughtfully designed interior pays homage to Venice’s bohemian roots (is that Harry Perry on the bathroom wallpaper?) while offering modern amenities and comfortable viewing from every angle.

Beyond just music, The Venice West serves as a cultural hub where community gathers, featuring local art exhibitions and offering a curated menu of craft beverages and food, with a kitchen open later than most. The venue’s commitment to quality sound engineering ensures that each performance reaches its full potential, making it a favorite among musicians and music lovers alike. • The Del Monte Speakeasy

    THE ORIGINAL SPEAKEASY

In 1915, Italian immigrant Cesar Menotti opened “Menotti’s Buffet,” an upscale bar and restaurant. Prohibition in 1920 forced Menotti to transform the establishment into an underground speakeasy, using Venice’s steam pipe tunnels to transport bootlegged liquor. Whiskey arrived via boats offshore, fueling a successful operation that made Menotti a key figure in the local bootlegging scene.

The Townhouse, built in 1915, evolved over decades, passing through several owners while remaining a beloved Venice landmark. Today, it operates as a live music venue and cocktail bar, celebrating its legacy as Venice’s original speakeasy.
