Psychedelic Symphony 2: Take Another Trip

One good trip deserves another. Last year, Santa Barbara rockers The Doublewide Kings, with a little help from their friends, explored some of the most memorable and mind-expanding music of the ‘60s and ‘70s with their “Psychedelic Symphony” show. This year, the Kings and The Santa Barbara Symphony, Nir Kabaretti, Music and Artistic Director —together at the Granada for the fourth time — are ready to do it again with slightly wider bell-bottoms, slightly brighter day-glo scarves, and an entirely fresh lineup of cosmic tunes.  Get psyched for “Psychedelic Symphony 2: Take Another Trip.”

This time around, the blend of the Kings’ classic-rock firepower and the Symphony’s potent orchestral sweep will take you even deeper into the kaleidoscopic sounds that bent the rules and permanently changed what music could be. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Jim Morrison will all be there in spirit, ready for things to get hazy. Face it, one trip was never going to be enough.
