Music Man Miles, Hector Waluyo, and Mixmaster Wolf celebrate the musical life of JAMES BROWN!
We’ll be pulling out the mountain of classics and deeper cuts that soul brother #1 recorded with his many great backing bands and featured singers as well as cover versions from around the globe.
James Brown not only had an exceptional ear for song & groove, he could spot other talented musicians to collaborate with and produce some of the funkiest soul ever recorded. There were older contemporaries of his like Bobby Byrd, Hank Ballard and organist Bill Doggett as well as many younger musicians like Marva Whitney, Vicki Anderson, Clyde “the funky Drummer” Stubblefield, Bootsy Collins, Lynn Collins, Maceo & the Macks and plenty others. In addition there is a sizable amount of musicians from around the world who covered JB’s classics & deeper productions. We’re looking forward to breaking out all of these vintage vinyl records for you this weekend in celebration of Soul brother #1!
