High Desert Art Fair Music Showcase
Sat, March 28th, 2026 @ 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm
The High Desert Art Fair returns to Pioneertown, California, on March 28–29, 2026, bringing art, music, and culture together in one of the most iconic settings in the American West. For two days, the Pioneertown Motel and surrounding venues become an immersive desert campus where exhibitions, performances, and community meet.
Each motel room transforms into a gallery, with local, regional, and national exhibitors presenting installations and curated selections across photography, painting, sculpture, and more. Talks, book signings, and daytime programming spark conversations between artists, curators, collectors, and the broader high desert community.
The weekend’s music lineup expands this year, kicking off with a free Friday-night opening party at Red Dog Saloon, featuring a DJ set by Shepard Fairey.
On Saturday night, Mark Mothersbaugh—artist, composer, and co-founder of DEVO—performs at Pappy & Harriet’s, debuting The General, his one-of-a-kind instrument first introduced in his Myopia retrospective. Additional musical guests will be announced, rounding out a full evening of performances across Pioneertown.
The 2026 fair also launches new collaborations with Desert X for talks and special programming, along with a special edition of the Pioneertown Gazette documenting the weekend’s exhibitions, performances, and stories.
A full list of participating galleries, publishers, musicians, and cultural partners will be announced in January 2026.
Whether you’re a collector, an art lover, or finally planning that Joshua Tree weekend with friends, the High Desert Art Fair offers a magnetic mix of art, music, and desert energy unlike anything else in California.
