Santa Barbara’s premier Grateful Dead tribute band, No Simple Highway, joins forces with Ventura’s The People’s Dead, along with special guests, for an unforgettable evening of high spirits and timeless songs as we gather to say, “Thank You, Jerry!”
About Jerry Garcia
Jerry Garcia was born in San Francisco, California, on August 1, 1942, and went on to become one of the most influential musicians in rock history as the founding guitarist and vocalist of the Grateful Dead, as well as the leader of the beloved Jerry Garcia Band.
Although Garcia passed away on August 9, 1995, at the age of 53, his music and the enduring spirit of Deadhead culture continue to thrive. Each year, new generations discover his songs, while his artistry continues to inspire countless fans and musicians across the United States and around the world.
About No Simple Highway
Santa Barbara’s longest-running Grateful Dead tribute band, No Simple Highway (NSH), has been performing live since 2014, earning a devoted following among local and regional Deadheads. Known for their polished yet adventurous performances, NSH brings both beloved classics and deep cuts from the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia songbook to life with rich vocal harmonies, inspired improvisation, and a deep respect for the music’s enduring legacy. The band recently celebrated its 12th anniversary with a spirited performance at SOhO—the very stage where its musical journey began.
About The People’s Dead
The People’s Dead is a Grateful Dead tribute project built around the dynamic vocal and guitar partnership of Dan Stein and Liv Zutphen. Backed by a rotating lineup of talented musicians from Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties, each performance offers a fresh, collaborative take on the Dead’s timeless catalog.
The band is also the driving force behind Ventura’s weekly Dead Night residency, fostering an authentic, community-centered celebration of the music. Beyond the project, Dan is the founder of Dandy Productions, producing major live music events and waterfront concert series in partnership with the Crowne Plaza, while Liv tours nationally with the acclaimed all-female Grateful Dead tribute band, Brown Eyed Women.
