Athenaeum Music & Arts Library

Located in the heart of La Jolla, the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library stands as one of the few membership-supported libraries in the United States dedicated exclusively to music and art. Founded in 1899, this cultural institution has evolved into a cherished community resource that offers a diverse range of programs and collections.

The Athenaeum houses an extensive collection of materials including books, periodicals, CDs, DVDs, sheet music, and artist monographs. Its specialized focus allows visitors to explore everything from classical composition to contemporary art movements in remarkable depth.

Beyond its function as a library, the Athenaeum serves as a vibrant cultural center hosting concerts, exhibitions, lectures, and art classes throughout the year.
