Ziggy Marley + Burning Spear + Bam Marley

Reggae icons Ziggy Marley and Burning Spear are set to perform at Great Park Live, Sunday, October 19th, as part of their Do The Reggae Tour.

Ziggy Marley is a musician, producer, activist and eldest son of Bob and Rita Marley. Marley began performing in 1979 at 11 years old, and he spent the next two decades as the frontman of his siblings’ band Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. The group released nine studio albums before Marley went solo in 2003 with his debut album, Dragonfly. Across eight independently-released solo albums, Ziggy Marley has logged five No. 1s on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart including 2011’s Wild and Free and 2018’s Rebellion Rises. As a solo artist and as bandleader for Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, Ziggy Marley has won eight Grammys and a Daytime Emmy Award. Outside of his performing career, Marley has founded his own independent record label Tuff Gong Worldwide, publishing company Ishti Music and non-profit charity foundation U.R.G.E. Foundation (Unlimited Resources Giving Enlightenment).

Burning Spear’s impact on reggae music is profound. A true legend, Spear’s legacy through his music is one of self-reliance and self-determination for the African diaspora. Also known as Winston Rodney, his career spans over six decades. Burning Spear has won two Grammy Awards for Best Reggae Album; one at the 42nd Grammy Awards in 2000 for “Calling Rastafari,” and one for 2009’s “Jah Is Real.” He has been nominated for a total of 12 Grammy™ Awards. He was awarded the Jamaican government’s Order of Distinction for outstanding services to music in 2007. Burning Spear’s legacy as a reggae legend is everlasting, and his music continues to inspire and uplift audiences around the world. His influence can be heard in the work of countless artists who have followed in his footsteps, and his message of love and unity remain as relevant today as ever.
