It all started with a few Cal Poly students, one amp, a mountain, and a questionable idea. In 2014, we threw a renegade show, partied under the sunset—then got kicked off the mountain. No sponsors, no investors, just music, a sunset, and a lot of good vibes.

It should’ve been a one-time thing.

But we kept it alive. Year after year, the crowd got bigger, the music got louder, but the spirit never changed. Shabang is still independent, still for the people, and still proving that the best festivals aren’t bought—they’re built.
