Featuring The Doublewide Kings
With The Santa Barbara Symphony | Nir Kabaretti, Music and Artistic Director
Picture yourself in a beanbag chair, on a shag carpet, with a pair of giant stereophonic headphones wrapped around your flowing hair. That may have been the way you first absorbed some of the most exciting sounds of the music of the 1960s and ‘70s. Now, The Doublewide Kings, teamed with the Santa Barbara Symphony, offer you an equally comfortable (and better-coiffed) way to revisit those sounds with an evening titled “Psychedelic Symphony,” at the Granada Theatre on Saturday, November 8th.
Backed by the sweeping power of the Santa Barbara Symphony under the direction of Nir Kabaretti, Music and Artistic Director, the Kings return for their beloved third annual symphonic rock collaboration. After two consecutive sell-out performances that paid tribute to Van Morrison and The Band’s Last Waltz, this year’s event will celebrate the spirit of the psychedelic era.
Psychedelic Symphony will revive the revolutionary sounds of the ‘60s and ‘70s showcasing the Kings’ classic rock prowess and the Symphony’s lush arrangements with powerful renditions of some of the most potent, signature tunes of the era. Memorable, boundary-breaking music by artists such as The Beatles, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane and—of course—The Grateful Dead will be performed and properly elevated.
Come settle in at the Granada for “Psychedelic Symphony” and enjoy some unique, musical time-traveling…
